About Us

I have over 10 years of networking experience in an enterprise environment.  This primarily came from working in Command Center Operations at Albertsons/Safeway.  In addition, the last 5 years I was involved working with VMware virtual machine servers (VMs) as a result of cross training in that environment. The ability to stop, start, move, migrate or vMotion VMs across nodes is impressive. While I had used VMware Players in my home labs; seeing how virtualization worked in an enterprise environment was a huge plus.

I was also involved in the Cisco Meraki migration that used SD-WAN technology that made the deployment, maintenance and replacement of network devices substantially easier and more time efficient.  Moreover, I part of the Cloud Migration (Microsoft Azure) and Network Modernization team.

It also became apparent how certain network events impacted VM clusters and nodes. One of these network events includes asymmetric routing. Since all traffic must be encrypted and secure, backbone VPN Concentrators (VPNC) are used for this purpose. For redundancy, there are the primary and secondary VPNCs. As traffic transverses the VPNCs, as long as it leaves on the primary side and returns on the same side, routing remains symmetric. However, if the returning traffic is on the secondary VPNC (asymmetric routing) will cause those VM cluster nodes to drop off the network becoming unreachable. With the various VM servers unavailable, creates issues.

In summary, my network and server side experience give me a unique perspective on the nuances that exist in an enterprise environment as these entities converge.
